Have you caught your vision? You may be asking, "What do you mean by vision"? Proverbs says "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." (Proverbs 29:18 KJV) the NIV renders the same text as "Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction." (Proverbs 29:18 NIV) This vision is not a vision of your eyes but a prophetic word God has spoken. So the question comes back to, have you caught your vision? If you are not living the special revelation for your life than your life is perishing in the evils of this world, and you may not even realize it.
The title for this corner comes from a gospel rap album by the same name. Trip Lee the primary artist of this album states he vision like this.
Now that my eyes is open, gotta keep that Bible open
Not just so that I can quote Him, I’m hopin that I’ll behold Him
Until I lay in the grave, I’m praying I’ll stay in motion
Gazing with eyes of faith He gave me baby, I’m focused
I’m praying all through my 20’s I’ll see Him in 20/20
Looking at Him till I look like Him almost like His twin He’s
So merciful, His Word is so packed I’m telling many
About the glory of Christ, tryin to rep Him with all that’s in me (Words found on blackandreformedminstries.com)
The Proverb in the first paragraph gave two points. First, that without this special revelation from God, the people lead lives of destruction. Second these words of life from God have come so that everyone can live lives in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why God has given His people His Vision, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV) God's son is the vision that leads to life. So are you living your life in God's 20/20?
