Sabbath Keepers connect with biker
Members from Oklahoma, Topeka, Wichita and Ottawa Chapters converged upon Gentry, Ark., for Fall Round-up Camp Meeting event at Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Company. The company expressed an interest in starting a Sabbath Keepers Chapter and possibly using their beautiful location to host a Midwest biker camp meeting. We had a great weekend of riding and spiritual rejuvenation.
Sabbath morning, during Sabbath School, a woman handed one of us a hand-written note, explaining that her son had turned his back on the church to run with the wrong crowd. Her son rides, so she gave us his number and asked if we would try to contact him.
We spent quite a bit of time in prayer that day before trying to contact him, letting the Holy Spirit do His work first to soften her son's heart. We called, but there was no answer. His mom advised us that we should text, so we did and he replied a while later.
Through the course of this week Ottawa President Stuart Wolzen has spent quite a bit of time in conversation through text messaging with this young man who seems receptive to meeting us and riding together next time we make it to Arkansas (which should be often as our oldest son is at Ozark Adventist Academy in Gentry, AR). Please keep this young man in your prayers, and pray that his heart may remain open!
